Are dental X-rays safe?
Yes. Digital dental X-rays use only a tiny amount of radiation — significantly less than traditional film X-rays. We also use a protective lead apron and take images only when they'll genuinely help plan or monitor your care.
How often will I need X-rays?
It depends on your individual oral health. Most patients have checkup X-rays about once a year, with a fuller set every few years. We'll always explain why an image is needed before we take it.
Why do I need X-rays if nothing hurts?
Many problems — cavities between teeth, early bone loss, infections under old fillings — cause no pain until they're advanced. X-rays let us find and fix them early, when treatment is simplest and most affordable.
Can I see my own X-rays?
