Where is Herscher Dentistry located?
Our office is at 5 E Tobey Dr, Herscher, IL 60941 — right in town and convenient for families across Kankakee County. Free parking is available on site.
What are your office hours?
We're open Monday–Tuesday 8:00am–5:00pm and Wednesday–Thursday 9:00am–6:00pm. Fridays are by appointment only, and we're closed Saturday–Sunday. Call (815) 426-2611 to schedule.
Do you accept my dental insurance?
We're in-network with most insurance companies and accept most major PPOs — but we do not accept HMOs or Medicaid. We also accept CareCredit, cash, check, and credit cards. Call us at (815) 426-2611 to confirm your specific plan and coverage before your visit.
What is the $149 new patient special?
Our $149 new patient special includes a comprehensive dental exam, a full set of X-rays, and a professional cleaning — everything you need to start with a clear picture of your oral health. Call to claim it and schedule.
Do you offer a membership plan for patients without insurance?
Yes — our in-house membership plan is $399 per year and includes 2 exams, 2 cleanings with fluoride, and a full set of X-rays each year, plus 20% off basic, major, and orthodontic treatment. It's designed for patients without dental insurance. Learn more or call us to join.
Do you see children?
Yes — we're a family practice and love seeing kids. We keep early visits relaxed and friendly so children build positive dental habits from the start. We recommend a first visit by your child's first birthday or when the first tooth appears.
What should I do if I have a dental emergency?
Call us right away at (815) 426-2611. We make room for emergencies — including severe toothaches, broken or knocked-out teeth, lost crowns, and swelling. Weekend care is by appointment only, so call and we'll guide you on next steps.
Do you offer sedation for anxious patients?
Yes — we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to help anxious patients relax, along with gentle techniques and a calm, unhurried approach. Ask us about your options when you schedule.
How often should I get a dental cleaning?
Most patients do best with a professional cleaning and checkup every six months. Some patients — for example those with gum disease — may benefit from more frequent visits. We'll recommend a schedule that fits your needs.
Do you offer teeth whitening?
Yes — we offer professional 1-hour laser teeth whitening in the office, which brightens your smile quickly and safely. Ask about it at your next visit.
What are my options for replacing missing teeth?
We offer dental implants, dental bridges, and full or partial dentures. Each option has advantages depending on your health, budget, and goals — we'll evaluate your smile and walk you through the choices.
Do you treat TMJ / jaw pain?
Yes — we diagnose and treat TMJ disorders and jaw pain, including custom bite guards and other conservative therapies to relieve clicking, soreness, and tension headaches.
